•  Basic Training – Recommended for all able-bodied recruits



BASIC TRAINING

TIER 5:  General Fundamentals  ––  Suitable for general non-deployment roles, administrative, communications, manual labor, recruitment, and emergency response to community disasters. Must always be supervised by Tier 3 or higher.

    1. Training:

      1. Demonstrate basic command structure and chain of command (UCM 1-205-1 Test)
      2. Demonstrate basic understanding of rules of engagement (UCM 1-205-2 Test)
      3. Demonstrate understanding of uniform, code of conduct, and mission of UCM (UCM 1-205-3 Test)
      4. Basic First Aid (Red Cross or similar will suffice) UCM 1-205-4
      5. CPR/AED – UCM 1-205-5
      6. Basic Firearms Familiarity (CFP, NRA Basic Pistol or Rifle, hunter safety, or other certification) – UCM 1-205-6
      7. Basic Communications – UCM 1-205-7
    2. Gear:

      1. Possess rifle in 5.56/.223 caliber with two-point sling.
      2. Possess 220 rounds of 5.56/.223 caliber ammunition.
      3. Possess seven (7) 30-round AR-15 magazines and one (1) 10-round AR-15 magazine.
      4. Possess 9mm handgun
      5. Possess 34 rounds of 9mm ammunition
      6. Possess a minimum of two (2) 17-round 9mm magazines for handgun.
      7. Possess holster and belt for handgun (must meet basic safety inspection)
      8. Possess Khaki pants, olive drab buttoned shirt, olive drab T-shirt.
      9. Possess combat appropriate footwear.
    1. Physical:

      1. Execute 5 push-ups.
      2. Execute 3 pull-ups.
      3. Walk one mile with gear in 30 minutes.


TIER 4:  Patriot Bootcamp  ––  Suitable for mission support, logistics, general labor, communications, guard duty, evacuations, and motor transport. Must always be supervised by Tier 3 or higher.

    1. Training:

      1. Basic Life Support (Red Cross BLS Certification will suffice) UCM – 1-204-1
      2. Marksman Qualification Rifle – UCM 1-204-2
      3. Identify Friend Foe /IFF – UCM 1-204-3
      4. Perimeter and Operational Security – UCM 1-204-4
      5. Basic Land Navigation – UCM 1-204-5
      6. Self-sustainment in the field – UCM 1-204-6

    1. Gear:

      1. Battle Belt
      2. IFAK
      3. Tourniquet
      4. Load bearing vest or plate carrier
      5. Gloves
      6. Six (6) AR-15 MOLLE/PALS magazine pouches
      7. Baseplate Compass and 1:24,000 Topographic Map of AO
      8. Ranger beads
      9. Chemlight IFF marker and Chemlights (green)
      10. Handheld Flashlight
      11. Headlamp
      12. One (1) roll of yellow duct tape
      13. One (1) roll of orange duct tape
      14. 3-day pack
      15. Sleeping bag
      16. Meals/MREs, snacks for three (3) days
      17. 2-liter water bladder
      18. Multicam trousers and shirt (long sleeve)
      19. Fixed-blade knife with a blade length of 3-5-inches
      20. Rite-in-the-Rain pocket notebook and mechanical pencil

    1. Physical:

      1. Walk 1.5 miles with full kit in 45 minutes
      2. Execute 10 push-ups
      3. Execute 6 pull-ups
